The War Memorial monument which was installed on 28 June 1924 is in the distance. It was placed here in honour of Trinidad and Tobago nationals who served and died in World Wars I and II, 1914-1918 and 1939-1945. War Memorial Park is surrounded by Frederick Street to the west, Charlotte Street to the east, the Queen’s Park Savannah to the north and Keate Street to the south. There are four walkways leading to the Cenotaph at the center. There are several historic buildings behind the monument.

Funding for this project has been provided by Mrs. Irma E.
